The entry into application of the RGPD in May 2018 and the approval, in December, of the new Organic Law on Data Protection and Guarantee of Digital Rights (LOPDGDD) have been two of the most important challenges faced by the advertising sector in recent times. And it is that the adaptation of advertising activities, mainly online, to the new data protection and privacy regulations is key to maintaining consumer trust.For this reason, the Association for the Self-regulation of Commercial Communication, AUTOCONTROL , whose objective is to work for responsible advertising, developed during the past year an intense work of information, training and advice to help companies fulfill their obligations in relation to the General Data Protection Regulation (“RGPD”), while establishing a new streamlined, efficient and free channel for consumers to resolve their claims on data protection in relation to telecommunications companies.
